Poking around in a fresh VM in Vagrant, I see
bash dash, a POSIX compliant shell linked under sh python3, 3.11.2 at the time of writing awk, specifically mawk sed, if you count that (I do) perl, specifically Perl 5 There may be others I missed.
Why Iâm curious: Knowing that a language is installed by default on the most popular Linux distribution can simplify certain concerns considerably, which are of special interest to people who donât work on Internet-connected boxes.

Consider Linux and Mac OS X as brother and sister.
They come from the same father and mother (Unix, FTW!), they share many genetic traits (Terminal, AMP (LAMP/MAMP), X11 FTW!) and have similar friends (there's a fairly large open-source community geared towards the Mac).
The differences are mostly minor, Mac (the sister) is a bit prettier and the dad is a bit more protective of her, so you lose a bit of freedom but it's not necessarily a negative as much as a different philosophy. Linux is a do whatever you want, however you want system, Mac is a do whatever you want, however you want as long as you don't touch ____ (usually core system files). It's meant to protect the sanctity of the system against common/nefarious users, not to prevent you from doing what you want.
Linux OTH isn't as pretty and the dad encourages him to mess around more, which leads to more freedom but also to a tougher experience overall. He won't get free coffee at the coffee shop because he's pretty, but he'll get the job done dammit.
You were friends with the brother and now you're considering dating his sister. Sure, there might be some conflicts, but you also get the benefit of knowing her family background, having a friend who is intimately aware of the some of the crazy shit the sister does, and at the end of the day, unlike in real life, if shit don't work out you can ditch the girl and go back into the freedom loving arms of the brother, you sick perverted bastard.

For the past ten months, I've been using my PinePhone as a "daily driver." By
which, I mean it's been in my pocket everywhere I go, and it's the device I use
to make phone calls. Depending on your familiarity with the PinePhone (or the
state of "Linux Phones" more generally) this statement is either delirious, or
vapid (why should I care that you use a "smart" phone just like the rest of us?)
Don't be mistaken: the PinePhone is usable as a little cellular-capable PDA, and
it's in a league of its own. This article is my attempt to document my
experiences and rationale for wanting to use one, as well as my thoughts on
mobile Linux in general.
